Helen V. Flynn, 89, of Camillus, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2009 at University Hospital. Born in Syracuse on Monday, February 9, 1920, she was the daughter of Stanley J. Sizing and Gertrude Castle Sizing. She was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area. Helen was a graduate of St. Anthony's School and communicant of Holy Family Church. She enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge. An avid sports fan, she was a great supporter for Syracuse University and the NY Yankees. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Robert Edward Flynn Sr. in 1988 and brother, Douglas Sizing. Surviving are her daughter, Pat McLaughlin of Morrisville, Pennsylvania; sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas of Camillus, Robert and Linda of Onondaga Hill, and Jim and Stephanie Flynn of Camillus; sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Louis Pellow of Camillus; brothers and sister-in-law, Jerome Sizing of Fayetteville, Rev. Theodore Sizing of Syracuse and Bruce and Joyce Sizing of Fayetteville; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Helen will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
