Helen M. Kelly

Helen M. Kelly, 94, of Onondaga Hill, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014 at home. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, she was a communicant of The Church of St. Michael & St. Peter and member of its Altar and Rosary Society. A 50-year member of the Tuscarora Golf Club, she was also a longtime member of the Syracuse Women's District Golf Association. Helen volunteered at Van Duyn Home & Hospital and also enjoyed gardening, crafts, artwork, sewing and spending time with her family. Helen was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Leo, in 2013. Surviving are her son, Kevin (Anne) of Syracuse; daughters, Julie Kelly of Syracuse and Sandra (Paul) Birmingham of Penn Yan; brother, Ernest (Carolyn) Kreis of Syracuse; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, August 28 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at The Church of St. Michael & St. Peter. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Helen will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Church of St. Michael & St. Peter, 4782 W.
