Helen (Lizo) Solomon
May 29, 1927 — August 31, 2018
Helen (Lizo) Solomon, 91, of Lakeland, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Living Facility. Her memory will be cherished by all. Helen, a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church, was widowed 10 years ago after 60 wonderful years shared with her beloved husband, Stefan.
Helen was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Lizo; and sisters, Judith Reid and Elizabeth Marko.
Surviving are her daughters, Linda Coughlin and Nancy (Carmen) Vona; grandsons, Timothy Coughlin Jr. and Carmen Vona Jr.; great-grandchildren, Chloe Coughlin and Brandon, Valerie and Taylor Vona; and many nieces and nephews.
Helen will be remembered for her great love and enjoyment of “the grands.” We love you GGM, keep safe surrounded in angel’s wings and have a peaceful flight home.
A calling hour for friends and family will be held Tuesday, September 4 from 9 to 10:15 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church, Lakeland.
A funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the church. Interment will take place directly following the Mass in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Donations in Helen’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
