Helen Jackemuk Kielecki, 85, of Lakeland, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2009 with her sister, Katherine Dulian, as a result of an automobile accident. A lifetime resident of Lakeland, she was born on Thursday, October 18, 1923 and was the daughter of John Jackemuk and Pauline Gerula Jackemuk. Helen graduated from Solvay High School. She was employed by B.G. Sulzle, Inc. in Mattydale. A communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church, Helen was a member of its Altar & Rosary Society and also a member of the Polish Falcons of Auburn. Helen enjoyed vegetable gardening, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Helen was predeceased by her husband, John, in 1984; brother, John Jackemuk; sisters, Anna Rowell, Sophia Noga, Mary Kowal and Katherine Dulian. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Dr. Thomas Yatsonsky of Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania; son, John "Teddy" and Patty Kielecki; sister, Rose Kuzio; and brother, Alex Jackemuk, all of Lakeland; grandchildren, Shelby (Jeremy) Hernandez and Benjamin Kielecki; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass for Helen and Katherine will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2009 in Our Lady of Peace Church with Rev. John Fetcho officiating. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Helen will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of Peace Church, 203 Halcomb St., Syracuse, NY 13209.
