Helen J. Bogart McGivern, 90, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Crouse Hospital. Born in Norristown, PA, she lived in Camillus since 1948 and was a 1942 graduate of Ellis College in Newtown Square, PA. Helen retired in 1979 after 37 years with Carrier Corp. She was a member of the West Hill Ladies Golf League and Carrier Corp. Retirement Organization. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and active with the Golden Agers. Helen was predeceased by her first husband, Walter Bogart, in 1969; second husband, Jerry McGivern, in 2010; grandsons, Mickey D. and Neil Simon; and her siblings. Surviving are her sons, David (Cathy) Bogart of Clay, Dennis (Debi) McGivern of Merrimack, NH and Matthew (Leigh) McGivern of Mount Airy, MD; daughters, Barbara Russell of Frederick, MD, Frances McGivern of Westvale, Debbie (Stan) Simon of Camillus and Mary E. (Bob) Capella of Cazenovia; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call Sunday, December 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be Monday, December 15 at 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home and 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Helen will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus, NY 13031.
