Helen B. Druce, 76, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at home. Born in Mexico, NY, she lived in Northville, Meridian and Ithaca before moving to Camillus in 1968. Helen was a graduate of Mexico Academy Central School and St. Lawrence University. She was employed by the Onondaga County Bar Assn. for 20 years, retiring in 2006 as executive director.
Helen was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, Junior League of Syracuse, Syracuse Corinthian Club, the National Assn. of Bar Executives and the Fluffy Wuffy Book Club. She was a founding member of the Board of New Justice Conflict Resolution Services. Helen was a board member of the following: Alzheimer's Assn. of CNY, Girls Inc. & Advocates for Girls, Home Aides of CNY, Women's Fund of CNY, Empower Associated Services, Empower FCU, the Consortium for Children's Services, Cornell Cooperative Extension Dept. of Social Services Advisory Council, SLU Alumni Council, ACTS and Sister of Kappa Delta Sorority. She was a teacher at Westhill High School from 1979 to 1986, Bryant & Stratton from 1977 to 1979, West Genesee High School from 1972 to 1973, where she was also a substitute teacher for several years, and Northville Central School from 1964 to 1966.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, Russell, in 2007.
Surviving are daughters, Kathleen D. (Rich) Halloran-Clark of Southborough, MA and Karen D. (Keith) Acheson of Chestnut Hill, MA; son, Michael R. Druce of Camillus; sister, Nancy (Steven) Aesch of Ontario; grandchildren, Michael, Kelsey and Colleen Halloran, Samantha and Nicole Druce and Ivan and Rory Acheson; nephew, Adam (Nicole) Aesch of Ontario; five grand-nieces and grand-nephews; and several cousins.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, June 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church.
Services will follow at 7 p.m. at the church. A burial service will be Saturday, July 1 at 10 a.m. in Mexico Village Cemetery.
