Harold “Butch” Grant Hauswirth, 76, of Camillus, passed away Sunday at Iroquois Nursing Home. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was the son of the late Charles and Shirley Hauswirth. He graduated from Baldwinsville High School.
Sergeant Harold Hauswirth was a true patriot and his dedication to his country shone through his service in the Marine Corps. He proudly served his country from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1970. Butch was also a member of the VFW Post #5540 and American Legion Post #7290. He enjoyed the camaraderie and support of his fellow veterans, and together, they shared stories, experiences, and a deep bond built on their shared service.
Butch found great joy in spending time with his beloved family. He cherished moments with his four children. With them, he leaves behind a legacy of love, strong family values, and cherished memories.
Butch is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Shirley Hauswirth; siblings, Charles F. Jr., Vernon, Patricia Sofia, and John.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Patricia; daughters, Lori (Kevin) Cain, Stacey (Dave) Hauswirth, and Kari-Ann (Ron) Clark; son, Andrew; grandchildren, Samantha, Sydney, Sadie, Joshua, Karli, Molli, Gavin, and Parker; sisters, Charlene and June; brothers, Donald and James; and several nieces and nephews.
To honor Harold’s life, family and friends are invited to gather May 18, 2024, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Asil's Pub, 220 Chapel Dr., Syracuse.
