Gloria (Daniszewski) LaPoint, 80, of Solvay, passed away at her daughter’s home on Saturday, December 24. A lifetime resident of Solvay, she lived in Key Colony Beach, FL for a short while before moving back to Syracuse in 1993. Gloria was employed by Chappell’s and The Bon-Ton as a sales clerk for over 25 years. She enjoyed gambling at the casino, shopping for great bargains and staying in the Florida Keys. Above all, Gloria loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Gloria was predeceased by her husband, Donald in 1993; sister, Thelma (Daniszewski) Weber; and brothers, Albert and Chester, Jr. Daniszewski.
Surviving are her son, Bryan (Terri) of Eastwood; daughter, Theresa (Mark Mallinger) LaPoint-Galloway of Westvale; grandchildren, Daniel, Olivia and Danielle; brother, Edward (Gloria) Daniszewski of Solvay; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, January 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 3 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Gloria will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
Gloria’s family wishes to extend a thank you to the nurses on the 1st floor at St. Joseph’s Health Hospital and Hospice of CNY for their loving care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Gloria to The Arbor Day Foundation, 211 N. 12th St., Lincoln, NE 68508.
