Gloria G. (Von Vreckin) Miller, 75, of Camillus, passed away Monday, November 10, 2008 at Community-General Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Monday, March 20, 1933, she was the daughter of Charles Von Vreckin and Loretta Bayer Von Vreckin. She graduated from Duff's Iron City College and worked for ALCOA for a brief time before moving to Camillus in 1968. Gloria devoted most of her energies to her family and volunteer organizations in the community. Some of the organizations that Gloria enjoyed being involved with include: Maxwell Library, where she volunteered for 25 years, Community-General Hospital volunteer for 20 years, Girl Scout and 4H leader. She was also a member of a western area craft group and various church activities. She also enjoyed outdoor activities, including, ice-skating, cross country skiing, bicycling, and swimming. Along with her husband, Gloria was also a member of the Oneida Lake Region Antique Car Club. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. Surviving are her loving husband of 54 years, Howard; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Mark Bianco, Beverly and Doug Peterson, and Donna and Denis Tunguz, all of Camillus; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Gerald and Kathy Von Vreckin and Gilbert Von Vreckin, all of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2008 in St. Joseph's Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Friday, November 14, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum, Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
