Gloria A. (Tupper) Anson

Gloria A. (Tupper) Anson, 82, of Camillus, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Upstate University Hospital at Community Campus. A lifetime resident of Camillus, she graduated from Vocational Academy. Performing the Lord's work for over 40 years, Gloria founded the Sacred Heart Apostolate in Syracuse. She traveled all over the country performing parish missions and enthroning the Sacred Heart of Jesus in homes, schools and businesses. Gloria initiated and coordinated the first Sacred Heart World Congress in 2010 in Paray-le-Monial, France. With the encouragement and permission of the bishop of the Syracuse Diocese, in 1991, 1993, 1997 and most recently, 2007, Gloria was the driving force behind four Sacred Heart Congresses which drew laity and prominent clergy from throughout the world. She had numerous appearances on Mother Angelica's shows on EWTN. Her work has been recognized by Mother Theresa, Archbishop Fulton J. Sheehan, numerous bishops, priests and even the Vatican itself. Gloria worked in partnership with Father Bill Gaffney for over 20 years and she benefited from the guidance of Monsignor John Esseff as her spiritual advisor. Gloria lived her passion for Christ and many have welcomed Jesus into their hearts and homes because of her love for the Lord. The seeds she has planted will continue to bloom and her legacy will live on through the lives of those who she has touched.

Gloria was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Grace Tupper; and sister, Karen (Tupper) Wylde.

Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Jack; daughter, Laura (Mark) Daignault of Deltona, FL; sons, Patrick (Tammy) of Baldwinsville, Robert (Michele) of Fairmount and John (Lorrie) of Syracuse; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call Friday, December 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, December 2 at 9 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse. Gloria will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
