Glenn E. Argus

January 7, 1933 — July 5, 2024

Onondaga Hill

Glenn E. Argus, 91, of Onondaga Hill, passed away Friday at home, surrounded by his loving family. Glenn's life was marked by dedication to his family, his community, and his many passions.

A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, Glenn was a graduate of Central High School, and went on to serve his country with honor as a US Army Veteran during the Korean War. After his service, he pursued higher education and earned his bachelor's degree from SUNY Oswego, a testament to his commitment to learning and personal growth.

For 32 years, Glenn was a dedicated teacher in the Marcellus Central School District, retiring in 1991. His impact on the lives of his students and colleagues was profound, leaving a legacy of knowledge and inspiration.

Glenn was an active member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, where he sang in the choir offering his beautiful tenor voice. He also served on the property committee and church council. His faith and service were central to his life and brought him great joy.

In addition to his teaching career, Glenn had a passion for music and organ craftsmanship. He worked part-time tuning and repairing organs for Al Delorme and Ben Merchant's organ business.

Glenn found happiness in many activities, including boating, singing, and appreciating classic cars, especially his beloved Mustang. He was an avid animal lover, with a special affection for his own dogs. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, creating memories filled with love and laughter.

Glenn was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Lola Argus.

Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Carol; daughters, Janet (Scott) Jaworski of LaFayette and Susan (Bob Hanson) Pierpoint of Tully; son, Brian (Karen) of Jupiter, FL; cherished grandchildren, Jacob, Ellen, Amelia, Megan, and Garrett; brother, Donald (Nancy) of Liverpool; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

To celebrate Glenn’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
