Giovanni “Johnny” Colianni, 93, of Syracuse, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Loretto. Born in Scranton, PA, he moved to Syracuse in 1990.
Johnny attended Old Forge High School and was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was employed with Scranton Bakery Supply for 30 years, retiring in 1990 and later drove busses for First Student and delivered the local Scotsman Pennysaver for over 20 years.
Johnny was a member of St. Daniel’s Church and the Local Teamsters 182. He enjoyed driving, bowling and running bus trips to Atlantic City, but above all, loved spending time with his family.
Johnny was predeceased by his sisters, Josephine Labelli and Angeline Pomar; brothers, Joe, Paul and Vince Colianni; and grandson, Jeff Colianni.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, the former Linda Vincent; daughters, Ann Marie (Mark) DeAntonio of Dunmore, PA, Debra Cole of Syracuse and Karen (Hector Jr.) DeJesus of Syracuse; sons, John (Maddie) Colianni Jr. of Dunmore, PA and James Senke of Syracuse; sisters, Carmella Scwaner of Garfield, NJ and Mary Sacco of Palm Beach, FL; grandchildren, Frank Cole, Chris (Becky) Cole, Nick DeAntonio, Anthony Colianni, Nina Colianni, Kyle Senke, Mickayla Santiago, Xanihya Bell, Tatyannah Dyer-DeJesus, Hector DeJesus III, Joaquin DeJesus and Xavier “Bambino” Bell; and great-grandchildren, Sydney Cole, Arturo Miro and Lily and Ava DeAntonio; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, May 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Services will be Thursday, May 3 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Johnny will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
