Gertrude "Gert" E. Petrangelo

Gertrude “Gert” E. Petrangelo, 88, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Loretto.  A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a 1944 graduate of Liverpool High School. Gertrude was employed in the accounting department of Crucible Specialty Metals for five years.  She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and lifetime member of the Gem & Mineral Society.  She had a love of music and played a variety of instruments including the accordion, guitar and violin.  She also enjoyed knitting, sewing, traveling and camping.  Surviving are her husband of 69 years, Louis Charles Petrangelo; daughters, Carol Ann Lukaszewicz of Fort Edward and Linda Jean Cangemi of Weedsport; son, Gerald Edward Petrangelo of East  Syracuse; sisters, Anna Dennison of Liverpool and Doris McDonald of Jordan; brother, Richard Pickerell of Maryland; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. There will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 22 at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Family Church.  Gertrude will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
