Gertrude Gabor, 80, of Westvale, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a 1945 graduate of Blodgett-Vocational High School. Gertrude was employed by Jacobsen's Oriental Rugs for 31 years, retiring in 1992. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the A.O.H. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her family. Her daughter, Martha Myers, died in 2006. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Robert; daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Gregory Fitts of Dryden and Forestport; son, Michael Gabor of Syracuse; son-in-law, George Myers of Baldwinsville; grandsons, Matthew Myers of W. Palm Beach, Fla. and Daniel Fitts of Seattle, Wash. and step-grandson, Jonathan Myers of Syracuse. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2008 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Sunday, March 30, 2008 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Family Church, Food Pantry, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse, NY 13219.
