Geraldine “Gerri” Makow, 85, of the Village of Camillus, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at the Francis House. Born in Syracuse on Tuesday, September 21, 1926, she was the daughter of Edward Quirk and Dorothy Ross Quirk. A lifetime resident of the Camillus area, she was an avid Yankees fan and also enjoyed bowling, SU sports, reading and watching old movies. Gerri was predeceased by her husband, James, in 1990. Surviving are her daughters and son-in-law, Sandra Hotalen and Michelle and Donald Graves, all of Camillus; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Joyce Leski of Camillus; one grandson; and two great-granddaughters. Relatives and friends may call Monday, July 30 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will follow at noon at the funeral home with Rev. Tanya Atwood-Adams officiating. Geraldine will be laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery, Camillus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
