Geraldine J. "Gerri" Herold

March 31, 1932 — March 31, 2017

Geraldine J. "Gerri" Herold, 85, of Howlett Hill, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 on her 85th birthday. Born in Ogdensburg to Les and Eva Bolger, she resided in Syracuse for 67 years.

Gerri was a registered nurse at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital for 40 years, retiring in 1992.

Gerri was predeceased by her brother, Les Bolger; and sisters, Grace Pitkin and Faye Kemp.

Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Robert Herold; daughter, Kathy of Baltimore, MD; son, Jeff (Therese) of Doylestown, PA; grandchildren, Sara (Nick), Julianna (Rich) and Jarrett (Nina); three great-granddaughters; sister, Shirley (Gilbert) Race of Rensselaer Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

Gerri will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of adventure, whether it be going to craft shows, taking vacation cruises, playing croquet or whale watching at the Cape.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

Services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gerri's name may be made to Cycle for Survival, c/o Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, P.O. Box 27432, New York, NY 10087-7432.
