Gerald “Jerry” Hard, 72, of Lakeland, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at home, surrounded by his loving family. A lifetime resident of Lakeland, he was a graduate of Solvay High School and earned his associate degree from Watertown School of Commerce. Jerry was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was employed with New Process Gear for 31 years. Jerry was a member of the Orchard Game Club, Elbridge Rod and Gun Club and Local UAW 624. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. Above all, he loved spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
Jerry was predeceased by his wife, Carol, in 2014; and parents, Gerald and Teresa.
Surviving are his daughter, Jennifer (Anthony) Zoanetti of Norwood; son, Michael (Jackie) Hard of Camillus; grandchildren, Anthony and Abigail Zoanetti and Michael and Addison Hard; sister, Eloise Reale of North Syracuse; brother, Marty (Terry) Hard of Lakeland; and sisters-in-law, Ellen Parker of Baldwinsville, Martha (Joe) Fabrizio of Solvay and Rhonda Pitoniak of Long Lake.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday, July 16 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Services will be private. Jerry will be laid to rest in Belle Isle Cemetery, Warners.
