Gerald J. Bolton Sr., 72, of Camillus died Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at the VA Medical Center. Born in Hudson on Monday, September 9, 1935, he lived in Camillus most of his life. He was formerly employed by the New York State Developmental Center for more than 30 years and the Onondaga County Sheriffs Dept. for approximately 20 years. An Army veteran of the Korean War and Desert Storm, Gerald spent more than 40 years in the military service, including active and reserve service time. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1468 and VFW Post #348. He was an ardent volunteer at the VA Medical Center. Surviving are his former wife, Clara Bolton of Elbridge; daughters, Audrey (John) Odell of Camillus and Lori Phillips of Auburn; sons, Gerald (Susan) Bolton Jr. and Michael (Ann) Bolton, both of Camillus and Christopher (Yusaku Takase) Bolton of Medford, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Megan, Krista, Bethany, Joshua, Tyler, Brandon, Zachary and Nasheia. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Tuesday, April 15, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
