Gerald P. Gardner, Jr., 76, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Monday at Upstate University Hospital. Born in Malone, he made his home in the Syracuse area for many years. Gerald dedicated 17 years of service to Estes Express Lines before retiring in 2013. A man of deep faith, he was a devoted member of Grace Baptist Church for 20 years and served as a board member for the Child Evangelism Fellowship. He will be remembered for his kindness, commitment to his community, and unwavering faith.
Gerald was predeceased by his wife, Rosanne, in 2015; and parents, Gerald Sr. and Ann.
Surviving are his daughters, Sara and Stacy Gardner, both of Syracuse, Tanya (Scott) Palocy of Phoenix, Nicole Gardner of Oswego, Morgan (Dan) Riley of Valatie, and Ginger Johnson of Watertown; son, Gerald of Madison, TN; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Smith of Syracuse; and brother, Dale of Syracuse.
To celebrate Gerald’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral service will follow at the funeral home.
Gerald will be laid to rest in Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Syracuse.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to CEF of Onondaga County, 109 Ferndale Dr., Syracuse, NY 13205.
