Gerald D. Carr, 68, of Syracuse, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017 at University Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a 1968 graduate of West Genesee High School.
Gerald retired in 2004 from New Venture Gear where he worked for over 30 years and previously worked at Fred Spicer's Auto. He was a communicant of St. Ann's Church. A member of the UAW Local 624, Gerald also was an avid golfer, and a member of a golf league at the Orchard Vali Golf Club. He was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed going to races in Dover, Delaware but above all, loved spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, the former Janet Lundy; daughter, Lisa (Matt) Mahoney of Camillus; son, Gerald of Geddes; brothers, Lloyd (Suzanne) Carr of Oswego and Ronald (Mary) Carr of North Syracuse; grandchildren, Emily and Brian Mahoney; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, June 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 22 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Charles~St. Ann's Parish, 4461 Onondaga Blvd. Gerald will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
