George Dobreski, 82, lifelong resident of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at home and is now happily reunited with his wife of over half a century, Anne. George was born on Monday, December 29, 1930 and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired in 1990 after 42 years with General Electric. A devoted Catholic, he was a lifelong communicant of Holy Family Church. He was an avid golfer and loved to watch the game as much as play it. George was predeceased by his wife, the former Anne Randall on June 10, 2008; parents, John and Anna (Crowlick) Dobreski; brothers, John, Andrew and Bill; and sister, Mary. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Terry (Steve Morgan) Field of Fairmount; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Sherry of Camillus, David and Sue of Canandaigua and Edward and Brianne of Holland Patent; sister, Helen Micho of Otisco; 11 grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters. Relatives and friends may call Friday, April 19 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 20 at 11 a.m. in Holy Family Church. George will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
