George Augustus Schmidt

George Augustus Schmidt, 85, of Camillus, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013 at ElderWood Health Care at Birchwood. Born in Sioux City, Iowa, he lived in southern California before moving to Camillus in 2005. George was a veteran of the US Navy. He owned and operated a Shell service station in Newport Beach, California. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, the former Minnie Lee Shinkle; daughter, Robyn (Richard) Peck of Camillus; sons, Gregg (Lori) Schmidt and Gary Schmidt, both of Costa Mesa, CA; three granddaughters, Jennifer Symmonds of Chicago, IL, Rachel Schmidt of Costa Mesa, CA and Hannah Schmidt of Costa Mesa, CA; one grandson, Rod Schmidt of Costa Mesa, CA; and one great grandson, Daniel Symmonds of Chicago, IL. There will be no services.
