Genevieve A. Herrling

Genevieve A. Herrling, 56, of Cortland, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018 at Syracuse Home at McHarrie Place. Born in Auburn, she was raised in Union Springs until moving to Cortland in 1988. Genevieve earned her associate degree from CCC and was employed as an administrative assistant with SUNY Cortland for over 25 years. An avid reader, she also enjoyed music and her love for the Bee Gees was second to none. Genevieve had tremendous love for cats, jewelry, nature and playing cards.

Genevieve was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Miriam (Hickey) Herrling.

Surviving are her sister, Marie Herrling of Camillus; nephew, Kevin Carr of Camillus; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday, December 9 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, December 10 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 5600 West Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Union Springs.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Syracuse Home for their loving care and compassion given to Genevieve.
