Gary J. Bell, 81, of Camillus, passed away Monday, February 16, 2015 at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. Born in Cortland, he moved to Syracuse in 1960 and lived in Camillus since 1962. He was an Army veteran. Gary received his bachelor's degree from R.I.T. and architecture degree from Carnegie Mellon University. He was a partner of Bell & Spina PC in Syracuse. Gary was past president of CNY AIA and former secretary of the NY Architect Assoc. He was an architect consultant for the NY State Fair for 30 years. An avid artist and photographer, he also enjoyed golf. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Gary was predeceased by his parents, William and Fanny Bell. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Suzanne; daughter, Amy (Scott) Segal of Portland, ME; sons, Christopher (Melissa Zielinski) of Baldwinsville, Timothy (Kelley) of Ben Lomond, CA, Brian (Charleen) of Lafayette, CO and Andrew (Joanne) of Peekskill; sister, Shirley French of Spencerport; 11 grandchildren; three nieces; and a nephew. Relatives and friends may call Friday, February 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 21 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church. Gary will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cortland.
