Gail Masterson Battersby, 62, of Camillus, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 at home. Born in Binghamton, she was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area and a graduate of West Genesee High School.
Gail retired in 2014 after 25 years as an LPN with Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists. She loved the outdoors, walking and hiking, especially at Beaver Lake and Marcellus Park. She also enjoyed baking and made the best apple pie ever! Above all, Gail loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a pillar of strength for her family and always placed the needs of others before her own.
Gail was predeceased by her mother, Olga Masterson; and sister, Lynn Masterson.
Surviving are her husband and soul mate of 15 years, Kevin; daughter, Kimberly (Brian Wade) Gibbs of Liverpool; sons, Eric (Valerie Treasure) Gibbs of Baldwinsville and Kevin D. Battersby of Raleigh, NC; father, Charles Masterson of Camillus; sisters, Sandra (David) Ward of Baldwinsville and Cheryl (Tom Eckert) Masterson of Cape Vincent; brother, Craig (Mary) Masterson of Clifton Park; grandchildren, Makenzie Gibbs, Arianna Powless, Jason Wade, Madelyn and Dylan Treasure; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday, September 29 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Services will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
