Fred J. Muratore, 71, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Upstate University Community Campus. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, he was a graduate of Valley High School and attended Mohawk Valley Community College. Fred was a financial advisor with Key Investments, retiring in 2017 after 25 years of outstanding service to his clients. He was an active member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. He was also a classic car enthusiast. Fred proudly owned a 1953 Buick Special and a 1953 Hudson Hornet, installing seat belts so he could buckle his grandkids in for rides with Poppa. A devoted family man, his love for his family had no boundary. There was rarely a moment that Fred was not actively involved with his grandchildren, teaching them life’s many lessons, right up to his final days.
Fred was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Grace Muratore; and his sister, Catherine Soccocio.
Surviving are his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Carolyn (Palen) Muratore; son, Adam of Liverpool; daughters, Alyson Muratore of Syracuse and Morgan (Paul) Runge of Atlanta, GA; brother, Gary (Mary Anne) Muratore of Baldwinsville; seven adoring grandchildren, Jalen, Bianca, Jaron, Eva, Sofia, Tanner and Everlee; an expected eighth grandchild and first great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; and his precious chihuahuas, Bella and Nacho.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday, December 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee Street, Camillus.
Services will be Friday, December 21 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 5402 W. Genesee St., Camillus, NY 13031. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
