Frank J. Romano, 92, of Murrells Inlet, SC, formerly of Camillus, passed away Sunday at home. Born in Solvay, he lived in Camillus before moving to South Carolina in 2020. A 1948 graduate of Solvay High School, Frank was a sergeant in the Army Reserve. He was a master plumber starting his career at Charles Plumbing & Heating, later becoming self-employed at Romano plumbing, and ending his career at Cam-Ful Industries, Inc. A communicant of Holy Family Church, Frank was a Eucharistic minister and past president of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of Elbridge Rod & Gun Club, Elks Club, Plumbers Association and Westvale Golf Club. Frank was an avid hunter and fisherman, but above all, he loved spending time with his family.
Frank and Anne just celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on October 4th.
Frank was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Elizabeth; sisters, Julie Styrzo and Theresa (Roger) Cassell; brother, Michael (Arlene) Romano; and son-in-law, Timothy Potts.
Surviving are his wife, the former Anne Carroll; daughters, Judith (David) Lamanna of Camillus, Carol (Kenneth) Goldman and Frances Potts, all of South Carolina; brothers, John (Sandy) Romano and Anthony Romano; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, October 15 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. with a prayer service to follow, at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse. Entombment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
