Francis James “Jim” Verostek, 89, of Syracuse, passed away Friday at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Ridgway, PA he moved to Syracuse in 1972.
Francis was predeceased by his daughter, Ann Marie, in 2005; son-in-law, Walter, in 2019; five sisters; and two brothers.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Patricia; daughters, Mary Frances (A. George Pascual) of Clifton Park, Mary Jude (Marty) Plunkett of Syracuse and Jane Marie Verostek of Fayetteville; sons, Michael (Stephanie) of Rome and John of Washington, D.C.; grandchildren, Michael Joseph, Sarah, James, Paulina, Justine, Nicholas, Michael James, Minerva and Octavia; and many nieces and nephews.
There were no calling hours.
A private Mass was held Saturday, March 14 in Holy Family Church, Syracuse. Francis was laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
