Frances C. Way, 92, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at Good Shepherd Hospice in Port Jefferson. Born and raised in Brooklyn, she lived in Johnson City before moving to the Syracuse area in 1955. Fran graduated from Johnson City High School in 1950, and then from the former Broome County Community College in 1952. She retired in 2010 after 23 years as an administrative assistant with Crouse Hospital and previously with IBM and GE. Fran was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church and an active participant in Lions Club International. She loved traveling the world and enjoyed reading, music, and doing various crafts, especially painting and needlepoint.
Fran was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 2008.
Surviving are her daughter, Wendy Way of Holbrook, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, March 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Fran will be laid to rest in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott.
