Florence E. Wright, 88, of Fairmount, passed away Monday, March 2, 2015 at Van Duyn Rehabilitation & Nursing. Born in Tyre, NY, she lived in Fairmount since 1945. She was employed by the West Genesee Central School District for more than 15 years. During World War II, Florence worked at the NYS Fairgrounds helping load box cars and was formerly employed as a bookkeeper for her family's business, Wright Trash Service. She was a member of the Camillus Seniors and Westside Seniors. An avid bingo player, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Florence was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Christopher J. Wright Sr. in 2008; great-grandson, Jack Howell in 2012; and sister, Ella Mae Quigley. Surviving are her daughters, Bonnie (Wayne) Howell of Skaneateles Falls and Yvonne Wright of Fairmount; son, Chris (Kathy) Wright Jr. of Lakeland; sister, Waneta Olmstead of Camillus; brother, Leonard (Cheryl) VanHorn of Fairmount; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Friday, March 6 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
