Filomena (Lalli) Fangio, 92, of Camillus, passed away Monday, March 8, 2010 at home with her loving family by her side. Born in Castiglione, Italy on Tuesday August 28, 1917, she was the daughter of Felice Lalli and Maria Congoconna Lalli. She came to the United States in 1957 and resided on Syracuse's north side most of her life. Filomena was employed by Fleischmanns Furniture and was a communicant of Our Lady of Pompei Church. Filomena was predeceased by her husband, Michael Angelo Fangio on May 7, 2007. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Jerry Haynes of Cicero, Angela and Donald Farewell of West Monroe and Dora and Jim DeWolfe of Camillus; grandchildren, Cheryl Barbeau, Jennifer Cayea-Cheng, Lisa Farewell, Jason Cayea, Michelle Kendall and Ryan DeWolfe; and great-grandchildren, Emily and Hailey Barbeau, Sofia Filomena Cheng, Jonah Kendall and Bianca Merella Cayea. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 12 in St. Joseph’s Church. Relatives and friends may call preceding the service Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Filomena will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Hospice for providing compassionate and loving care to Filomena.
