Evelyn Stack Taylor Casey, 89, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2006 at the Jewish Home. Evelyn was born on the southwest side of Syracuse on Friday, April 6, 1917, the daughter of Bernard Stack and Mabel Vincett. She resided in Apulia for many years. A graduate of Central High School, Evelyn worked for Nixon Gear, Aspen Industries and Agway. She was the widow of Donald Taylor (1942) and John Casey (2003). Evelyn was an excellent seamstress, quilter and crafter. In fact, her husband, John, often had to move her craft projects to go to bed at night. She was also a great cook (well-known for her sauce and lasagna!) and gardening. She enjoyed the winter months in Florida for many years. Evelyn was a former member of the Tully and Fabius Historical Societies and the Tully and Fabius Senior Citizens. She was also a communicant of St. Leo's Catholic Church in Tully. In addition to her first husband, Donald Taylor, and second husband, John Casey, Evelyn is predeceased by her brother, Edward Stack and sisters, Jean Stack McGraw and June Stack White. Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Donna Bernardini-Carr (Doug) and Marguerite Dunham (Arby) and two sons, Bill (Joanne) and John. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jen Casey Bernardini, Allison Casey Dunham, John and Laura Casey and a brother-in-law, Donald Casey. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2006 in St. Leo's Church, Tully where Rev. James Carey will celebrate a funeral Mass. Friends may call preceding the funeral from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in St. Leos Cemetery, Tully. Arrangements are by the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Central New York, 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204 or to the Apulia Fire Department, Route 80, Apulia Station, NY 13020.
