Evelyn L. Doster, 88, of Camillus, passed away peacefully with her daughter, Barb, by her side Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at James Square Health and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. Born in Buffalo on Wednesday, June 28, 1922, she was the daughter of Warren Leight and Amelia Czolgosz Leight. She lived in Camillus since 1959. A graduate of SUNY College at Buffalo, Evelyn retired after 20 years of teaching with the West Genesee Central School District. She was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church and was active in its choir. She was also a member of the NYS Teachers’ Union, Business and Professional Women's Organization and the Camillus Senior Citizens. Evelyn truly enjoyed her family, traveling and working in her flower garden. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Carlton in 1989; and daughter, Bette Mero in 2002. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Dick Bumpus of Gloversville and Barbara and John Resseguie of Baldwinsville; son and daughter-in-law, James and Robin of Gloucester City, New Jersey; sister. Norma Bluhm of Arkon; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren, with one more due in October. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, August 2 in St. Michael's Lutheran Church. Evelyn will be laid to rest at the convenience of the family in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
