Ethan Thomas Chynoweth, 25, of Charleston, SC, passed away unexpectedly due to a tragic accident Friday. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he moved to Charleston in 2022. Ethan was a 2016 graduate of West Genesee High School, received his bachelor's degree from SUNY Oswego, and worked for TD SYNNEX as a field account executive. A fitness enthusiast, he worked out often and enjoyed cooking. He cherished time with his girlfriend, Hailey, and they often spent time at the beach and traveled together. Most of all, Ethan loved spending time with his family and friends and was a kind soul with an electric personality that everyone adored.
Ethan was predeceased by his grandparents, Lawrence and Rita Horan.
Surviving are his mother, Debra (Michael) Chynoweth-Wild of Redwood; father, Thomas of Fairmount; sister, Emma Chynoweth of Syracuse; brother, Cassidy (Agnes) of East Brunswick, NJ; girlfriend, Hailey Buerk of Charleston, SC; grandparents, Richard (Lyn) Chynoweth of Bethlehem, PA, and Janice Chynoweth of Marcellus; many loving aunts, uncles and cousins; and his and Hailey’s beloved dogs, Kevin and Penelope.
A special thanks to the staff at the Medical University of South Carolina for their loving care given to Ethan.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, September 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 303 Kasson Rd., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, September 23 at 9 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse.
Burial will be private.
