Erin Kathleen Cutler, 36, of Syracuse, passed away on Wednesday at Upstate University Hospital. A proud graduate of Westhill High School, she went on to attend Onondaga Community College, laying the foundation for a dedicated and fulfilling career. For the past 12 years, she worked as a housekeeper at Syracuse University, where she was known for her strong work ethic, kindness, and warm spirit.
Erin had a heart of gold, reflected in her deep support for the Special Olympics, where she gave her time and energy to make a difference in the lives of others. Her love for the Adirondacks was a constant source of peace and joy, where she often found solace and inspiration for her poetry. Erin was also a true Renaissance Fair enthusiast, reveling in the history and magic of the event. Halloween, her favorite holiday, brought out her playful side, as she cherished the opportunity to embrace the season's whimsy.
Above all, Erin’s greatest love was her family, especially her beloved son, Hunter. She cherished every moment spent with him, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and a deep bond that was unbreakable. Her kind spirit, creativity, and love for life will be forever missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
Erin was predeceased by her daughter, Aurora; and paternal and maternal grandparents.
Surviving are her fiancé, Raymond LaPoint; son, Hunter; mother, Sandra Cutler of Fairmount; sister, Heather (Eric) Young of E. Syracuse; brother, Matthew (Jenna Sourwine) Cutler of Camillus; nieces, Ava and Aivleen; and nephews, Connor and Benjamin.
A memorial service in Erin’s memory will be held Monday, September 16, 2024, at 5 p.m. in the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A celebration of life will follow at Shove Park in Camillus.
