Eric Rick Hackbarth, 51, of Penn Yan, died Thursday, March 24, 2005 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. The son of Carl and Charlene Hackbarth, he was born in Syracuse on Monday, March 22, 1954. Eric grew up in Camillus, before moving to the Rochester area, where he lived for more than 20 years. He graduated from West Genesee High School in 1972 and received his associate's degree from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester. Eric was a digital design engineer for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, since 1981. Previously, he also worked for Penn Yan Airport. Eric was an FAA Inspector. He enjoyed flying and boating. Surviving are his former wife, Pamela; parents, Carl and Charlene Hackbarth of Camillus; sisters, Patricia Hackbarth of New York City and Christine Hackbarth of Syracuse; three nieces and one great-niece. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 5 at Fairmount Community Church, with Rev. Dr. Joseph Jankowiak officiating. Friends may call on Monday, March 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will be private.
