Emmett C. James, 78, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019 at home, surrounded by his loving family. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of West Genesee High School. Emmett was an Air Force veteran stationed in Korea where he met his wife, Katie. He was employed with Niagara Mohawk for over 30 years. Emmett enjoyed walking his dogs, watching sports and loved to share his passion for fishing. Above all, he cherished time spent with family.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Katie; daughters, Kim (Hamid) Rabiee of Redding, CA and Connie (Doug) Schwarz of Knoxville, TN; sons, Neil (Kara) James of Warners and William James of Syracuse; sister, Peggy Nolan of Syracuse; ten grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Saturday, August 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
