Emily C. Gokey, 36, of Marcellus, passed away Thursday. Born in Syracuse, she was a lifelong resident of Marcellus. Emily attended Le Moyne College and received her associate’s degree in architectural design from Onondaga Community College. She was a volunteer with NeuroMotor Training LLC in Camillus and was very much loved by all her patients and staff. She enjoyed photography and spending time in nature with animals.
Emily was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Arlene O’Connor and paternal grandparents, John and Helen Gokey.
Surviving are her parents, John and Mary Gokey of Marcellus; sister, Cindy Gokey of Marcellus; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and her beloved cat, Harry.
Emily was thankful for the last 21 years of life and very grateful for her two organ donors. Please consider organ donation.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, April 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 2 at The Church of St. Michael & St. Peter, 4782 W. Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse. Casual dress is acceptable and encouraged for Mass.
Emily will be laid to rest at Maplewood Cemetery in Camillus.
