Elsie L. Tanchak, 83, of Seneca Falls, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. Born in Walworth, she was raised in Waterloo and moved to Seneca Falls in 1955. Elsie retired after many years from Philips GTE in Seneca Falls and also worked at Chappell's in Auburn and Walmart in Waterloo. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Seneca Falls. She and her husband enjoyed bowling, coin collecting and traveling to various historical sites across the country. Elsie was predeceased by her husband, John, in 2013; and infant daughter, Mary Rose. Surviving are her daughters, Kathryn (James) Annan of Syracuse and Theresa Tanchak of London, England; son, John (Karin) Maag-Tanchak of Albany; grandchildren, Linda Annan, Jakob and Annemarie Maag-Tanchak; sister-in-law, Paula Holmes of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Friday, October 17 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Funeral services will be Monday, October 20 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterloo.
