Elizabeth Ruane

Elizabeth "Betty" Ruane, 87, of Solvay, passed away at her daughter's home on Saturday, July 5, 2014. Betty met her wonderful husband John in 1952 while working at New York Telephone Company. They were married from 1953 until John's death in 2002. Betty spent most of her married life as a homemaker. She spent her last five years living at Bellevue Manor in the company of a wonderful and caring staff, and many friends. She was also fortunate to spend several weeks at Francis House before moving to her daughter's home. Betty was predeceased by her husband, John; parents, Angelo and Serafina Iadanza; sisters, Angie, Mary and Anne Iadanza; and brothers, Michael, Daniel and Paul Iadanza. Surviving are her daughter, Kathleen (Andrew) Tompkins; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Bryan and Kara Tripoli, godson, David (Nancy) Iadanza; and several nieces and nephews. In following Betty's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery in Warners at a later date.
