Elizabeth Risser

Elizabeth M. Risser, 88, formerly of Camillus, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2009 in Canandaigua. Born on Monday, August 1, 1921, she was the daughter of Menno Horst and Lizzie Stern Risser. She was raised in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania and moved to Camillus in 1967. She resided in Canandaigua since 2008. Elizabeth worked as a legal secretary for many years. She was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Camillus and enjoyed flower gardening. Elizabeth’s husband of 54 years, Eugene B. Risser, died in 1999. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Barbara Risser of Canandaigua; daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and James Harrington of Newtown, Pennsylvania, five grandchildren; several nieces and one nephew. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2009 in St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Camillus. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, December 8, 2009 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Elizabeth will be laid to rest on Thursday, December 10, 2009 in Risser's Mennonite Cemetery, Elizabethtown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Michael's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 5108 W. Genesee St., Camillus, NY 13031.
