Elizabeth “Bette” Betts, 86, of Camillus, went to be with the Lord late Monday evening on May 13, 2019. Born on July 6, 1932, she was the oldest living Rescignano ever and a two-time breast cancer survivor. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, Bette was employed with Twin Trees Restaurants as a waitress for 25 years. In 1985, along with her husband, they opened up a restaurant named “Froggers.” They were in business for 22 years. Fortunately, they were able to do a lot of traveling and finally decided to have a winter home in Fort Myers, FL. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. Bette was a rare person and everybody that knew her loved her.
Bette was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Donald; sister, Angie Usher; and one grandson.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, George Betts; four children, Michael (Tammy), Louis (Ann), George (Vicky) and Lisa (Bob) Besner; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins, including special niece, Frannie DeStefano.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday, May 19 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, May 20 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 5600 West Genesee St., Camillus. Bette will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
