Elizabeth "Bette" Ann Simonelli

Elizabeth Bette Ann Simonelli, 84, a lifetime resident of the village of Camillus, died Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Community-General Hospital. Born on Friday, September 19, 1924, she was the daughter of Joseph Pozella and Rita Rinaldo Pozella. She retired from GTE Products Corp. as supervisor of accounts receivable after many years. Bette was active with the annual Camillus Memorial Day Parade for many years, providing cookies and coffee for anyone who wished to stop by her front yard, including a visit from Martha Rae. Her husband of 63 years, Antonio Tony Simonelli, died August 30, 2008. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Bernadette and Ross Gaiteri of Baltimore, Ohio; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Helen Simonelli of Camillus; brother and sister-in-law, John and Luretta Pozella of Cortland; grandchildren, Alison (Andy) Hider of Newton, Massachusetts; Jennifer (Scott) Remeis of Blacklick, Ohio and Roni Gaiteri of New Albany, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Mason, Jaxon and Emerson; several nieces and nephews. Services will be private. Arrangements are by the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. At the request of the family, no flowers.
