Elizabeth J. McClain, 88, of Camillus, passed away Friday, May 7, 2010 at home. Born in Buffalo on Monday, September 5, 1921, she was the daughter of Edward Riordan and Ann Conway Riordan. A graduate of South Park High School, she lived in Buffalo until moving to Camillus in 1993. Elizabeth was employed by the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers in Buffalo for five years. A communicant of St. Joseph's Church, she was a former communicant of St. Bonaventure Roman Catholic Church in Buffalo and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. Elizabeth was a member of the Camillus Senior Group. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Gerald McClain on April 30, 2001; and sisters, Ann Roche and May Janczarek. Surviving are her daughters and son-in-law, Susan Jacobson of Atlanta, Georgia and Peggy and Mike McElwee of Geddes; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Narda McClain of Denver, Colorado; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 11 in St. Joseph’s Church. Elizabeth will be laid to rest in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Buranich Funeral Home, Camillus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Father Baker, Our Lady of Victory Charity, 780 Ridge Rd., Lackawanna, NY 14218.
