Elizabeth Carnegie Roach, 86, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Upstate University Hospital at Community General. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a graduate of Nottingham High School and retired as a supervisor from Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. Elizabeth was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. She was known as an avid storyteller and enjoyed traveling, especially to Myrtle Beach and to their family camp in Old Forge. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, James Roach, in 2015; son, Thomas Carnegie; and sister, Marie Chapman. Surviving are her son, James (Doreen) Carnegie of Camillus; grandchildren, Jennifer (David) Carnegie and Christine Carnegie, both of Syracuse, and Jacob McReynolds of AZ; daughter-in-law, Melonie Carnegie of AZ; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call Sunday, July 10 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be Monday, July 11 at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Elizabeth will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of CNY, 441 W.
