Eleanor P. Abel, 94, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at The Centers at St. Camillus. Born in Oshkosh, WI, she graduated from Oshkosh High School. She lived in Port Orange, FL and Spencerport before moving to Camillus in 1997. Eleanor retired after 19 years with the Spencerport Central School District. A communicant of St. Joseph's Church, she was also a member of the Camillus Seniors.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Frank, in 2007; and brothers, Ervine and Wilfred Pasono.
Surviving are her daughter, Christine (James) Klix of Syracuse; son, James (Nancy) Abel of Palmyra; grandchildren, Karen (James) Toner, Robert Klix, Heidi (John) Florussen and Timothy (Lisa) Abel; six great-grandchildren; sister, Lois Faulhaber of Las Vegas, NV; and brother, Earl Pasono of Sun City, FL.
The family wishes to thank the C unit staff at St. Camillus for their loving care given to Eleanor.
A memorial Mass for Eleanor will be celebrated on Saturday May 18, 2019 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Camillus. Private burial will be in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Spencerport.
