Eileen D. Wolfe, 91, of Camillus, passed away Monday at The Commons on St. Anthony. Born to Sherman Leroy and Rose Ellen Durnell in Emporium, PA, she moved to Ridgway, PA, was a 1949 graduate of Ridgway High School. Elieen moved back to Emporium for three years before settling in Camillus. She was employed by West Genesee School District as a payroll clerk for five years, then Onondaga Community College for three years (where she also studied) before becoming a level three account clerk for Onondaga County, retiring in 1990. A member of the Camillus Ski Assoc., she was also a member of Robinson Elmwood United Church where she was very active in the church community. Eileen enjoyed reading and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Eileen was predeceased on December 13 by her husband of 67 years, William Raymond Wolfe; parents, Sherman and Rose; brother, Blair E. Kitchen; and sisters, Jean H. Gier, Dorothea A. Durnell, and Peggy J. Baird.
Surviving are her daughters, Nancy (Dale Fuller) Wolfe Fuller of Jordan and Carol Jean Sappe of Poughkeepsie; son, Kenneth Sherman of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Christopher (Michelle) Fuller, and Adam and Alexander Sappe; sister, R. Ena Westgren of Columbia, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
A joint funeral service for Eileen and her husband will be held Wednesday, January 4 at 10 a.m. in Robinson Elmwood United Church.
Eileen will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Robinson Elmwood United Church Endowment Fund, 126 S. Terry Rd., Syracuse, NY 13219.
