Edward R. Fletcher, 86, of Camillus, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Loretto. Born in Auburn, he was employed with GE and the former mayor of the Village of Camillus. A Navy veteran of the Korean War, Ed was a member of VFW Post #8664 and former commander for 13 years. He was also a member of the Veterans National Home for Children, American Legion Post #1276, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 8, Korean Veterans Assn. Chapters 105, 40 and 8, Camillus Elks, Camillus Historical Society and the Erie Canal Park. He was vice-chairman of the NYS Legislative Committee of the VFW to fight for veterans' entitlements.
Ed was predeceased by his wife, Patricia; sisters, Clara Indelicato and Dorothy Fares; and brothers, Richard and Albert Fletcher.
Surviving are his daughter, Teresa Reamsnyder of Camillus; sons, Daniel (Martha) of Baldwinsville, Scott (Renee) of Camillus and Christopher (Melissa) of Camillus; sister, Catherine DeNitto of Syracuse; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday, August 11 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral service will be Monday, August 12 at 9 a.m. at the funeral home. Ed will be laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery, Camillus.
