Edward "Ray" Norcross, 94, of Camillus, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Loretto. Born in Syracuse, he lived in Camillus since 1954. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. As a young man, Ray was a dairy delivery boy for his grandfather who owned Norcross Dairy. Following the war, he worked for Aerofin in Syracuse. From 1970-1983, he was a technician for the Camillus Water Dept. He attended St. Anthony's Catholic Church as a youth. From a young age, he had a love for cars and repairing them. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Ray was predeceased by his wife, the former Mary Grace LaBarge, in 1971; daughter, Carol Jean Miles, in 1981; six sisters; and a grandson, Jamie Norcross, in 2005. Surviving are his sons, James (Cordula) Norcross of Stroudsburg, PA, Edward (Sharon) Norcross Jr. of Camillus and John T. (Deb) Norcross of Apex, NC; daughters, Patricia (Robert) Johnston of Charleston, SC and Cynthia (Thomas) Rhodes of Baldwinsville; son-in-law, Robert Miles of Syracuse; brother-in-law, John Francher of Camillus; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, February 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be Thursday, February 26 at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home and 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated.
