Edward P. Spencer, 90, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Mercy Health & Rehabilitation Center in Auburn. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of Nottingham High School and Syracuse University and an Army veteran of World War II. Edward retired after 38 years with the NYS Dept. of Labor. He was a member of the Erwin First United Methodist Church and Syracuse Kiwanis Club. An avid SU sports fan, he also enjoyed traveling and spending the winters in Florida. He volunteered with Meals-on-Wheels in Camillus. Surviving are his sister, F. Audrey Card of Zephyrhills, FL; nephews, Richard Card of Syracuse, Michael (Margaret) Card of Skaneateles and Thomas (Roberta) Card of Wesley Chapel, FL. There will be no calling hours. Graveside services for Edward will be noon on Friday, November 8 in Onondaga Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Golisano Children´s Hospital, c/o University Hospital, 750 East Adams St., Syracuse, NY 13210 or to Kerri Card Scholarship Fund, c/o Skaneateles Central School, 49 East Elizabeth St. Skaneateles, NY 13152.
